Tryon, N.C. - The North Greenville University women's track and field team turned in a strong showing in distance events this week, stacking multiple top-10 finishes and demonstrating depth across the 3,000 and 5,000 meters.
Paris Alsup opened the meet with an eighth-place finish in the 3,000 meters, crossing the line in 11:08. Teammate Riley Shope followed with an impressive sixth-place effort in the same event, clocking a 10:36. Ellie Timmons added to the momentum with a seventh-place finish in the 3,000 meters at 10:37, giving NGU three runners in the top eight of the event.
Timmons also competed in the mile, placing 11th overall with a time of 5:19, showcasing her versatility across distances.
The Trailblazers continued to shine in the 5,000 meters. Shope secured a fifth-place finish in 18:42, while Cecily Anderton followed closely in sixth at 18:58. Addison Martin rounded out the scoring efforts with a 10th-place finish, posting a time of 19:37.
