Crusaders downed by Tampa

Tampa, FL – North Greenville men’s lacrosse fell victim to the Tampa Trojans on Friday night, falling 16-6 in non-conference action 

North Greenville led early in the first quarter on a goal from Thomas Cecere. The Trojans evened it up at 1-1 minutes later but the Crusaders got back to back scores From Blake Thompson and Gunnar Wilson to take a 3-1 edge.

The Crusaders held on to the lead until later in the late in the second quarter when three unanswered scores from the Trojans made it  4-3 at intermission. A big third quarter for Tampa put the Trojans over the top with 10-goals compared to just two for North Greenville 

NGU fell behind 13-3 until Max Elbin’s first score and a second from Thomas Cecere made it 13-5. Cecere tacked on one more score the lead the Crusaders. The goal made it 15-6 with eight minutes left in the game.

Braeden Dixon finished with 13-saves for North Greenville. Collin Courtney led the team with a pair of caused turnovers while six different players had a pair of groundballs.

Next Time out

North Greenville heads to Daytona Beach to take on Embry-Riddle at 1 PM.
