The North Greenville Trailblazers delivered a dominant performance, defeating the Hawks of Chowan University with a commanding 20-4 victory this afternoon in Murfreesboro, North Carolina.
North Greenville controlled the game from the opening faceoff, jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the 1st quarter and extending it to 10-1 by halftime. The Trailblazers continued to pour it on in the 3rd, adding five more goals to take a 15-3 advantage into the final quarter. NGU never let up, scoring five more times in the 4th to secure the decisive win.
The Trailblazers dominated statistically, outshooting Chowan 53-29 while holding a 33-21 edge in ground balls and a 16-11 advantage in faceoffs. North Greenville also forced 26 turnovers and capitalized on extra-man opportunities.
Caden Castle, Carson Fuchs, and Steven Huls Jr. led the offense with 3 goals each, with Castle also adding 3 assists. Tyler Slais and Cole Jenkins each recorded 2 goals.
In goal, Matthew Desmond earned the win with 7 saves while allowing just 1 goal over 37 minutes of action.
NGU will finish the regular season on Friday, April 17th against the Mountain Lions of Young Harris College at Pepsi Stadium.
