NGU bested by Emmanuel in five sets

Franklin Springs, GA - The North Greenville Crusaders lost to the Emmanuel College Lions today in five sets ( L 26-24, L 27-25, W 25-23, W 30-28, L 15-12). The Crusaders are now 17-10 (6-6 CC) as they look to finish out the regular season with three straight conference games.

The Crusaders and the Lions fought it out to the end in the first set with a final score of 26-24 with the Lions coming out on top. The Crusaders finished game one with twelve kills and seven errors on twenty four total attacks for a hitting percentage of .114.

The lions would go on to take game two in another competitive matchup 27-25. The Crusaders would struggle offensively in game two as they finished with six kills with seven errors on thirty one total attacks to finish with a hitting percentage of -.032.

North Greenville would find their first win of the night in game three as they took down Emmanuel 25-23. They would finish the game with fourteen kills and eight errors on fifty one total attacks with a hitting percentage of .118.

The Crusaders would even up the series in game four with a final score of 30-28. They would finish the game with thirteen kills with seven errors on forty nine total attacks to finish the game with a hitting percentage of .143.

Emmanuel would take the match in game five, downing the Crusaders 15-12. North Greenville would finish the game with eight kills with two errors on twenty four total attacks with a match best .250 hitting percentage.

Brittany Tepedino would lead the Crusaders in kills against Emmanuel, tying her season best of sixteen. Madison Pogue would lead North Greenville in assists with forty five. Eve Little would lead the Crusaders in digs with a season high of thirty. Haley Hester would finish the game with three aces.

North Greenville will travel to Gaffney, S.C. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 to take on the Limestone College Saints as they look to finish out the season with two more conference wins.
