Tigerville, SC - North Greenville clinched the weekend series against the Panthers of Kentucky Wesleyan College with 8-4 and 9-2 victories on Friday night. Scoring came at a premium until the late innings as NGU finished the day 6-24 with runners in scoring position. Ryan Kirk and Christian Ryder secured their first wins of the season. Jeremy Whitehead collected five hits throughout the day with two doubles and a home run.

Game One - 8-4 NGU

Ethan Garner took the mound for his third start of the season. In the bottom of the 1st, Jeremy Whitehead would get off to a solid start for the day with a solo shot to right field. Kentucky Wesleyan struck back in the top of the 2nd with an RBI double to left field. The score remained the same until the bottom of the 4th when Cory Bivins drove in a run with a single to center field. Two innings later, NGU added to the lead with Brady West scoring on a wild pitch. KWC's Chase Andrews would strike in the top of the 7th with a solo home run to left field. However, Michael Neustifter would put the Crusaders back up by two with an RBI double to left field. Two sacrifice flys by the Panthers tied the game in the top of the 8th at 4-4. For NGU, Whitehead would connect for his third hit of the game with an RBI double to left field. Neustifter would follow that up with a three-run home run to left field to put North Greenville up by four. Ryan Kirk, who entered the game in the top of the 8th, closed the game out with a scoreless ninth inning to secure the Crusader win.

Game Two - 9-2 NGU

Christian Ryder took the start for the Crusaders. Kentucky Wesleyan was able to score early with an RBI single to left center. However, the Crusaders would respond with an RBI single through the left side by Jordan Holladay. Both teams would score in the second as well with an RBI groundout by KWC and a solo home run to left field by Cory Bivins. Pitching would take over for the next several innings, but North Greenville would make plenty of noise in the bottom of the 6th with seven runs scored including home runs by Michael Neustifter and Holladay. Brent Herlong put the game to rest with a 1-2-3 top of the 7th to end the game.
