Error Costly as Trailblazers Fall to Catawba in Extra Innings

The North Greenville Trailblazers faced a tough loss in extra innings to the Catawba College Indians with a final score of 4-3 in Salisbury, North Carolina. A throwing error in the top of the 11th proved to be extremely costly for NGU as Catawba would go on to score in the inning. Brody Fowler took the mound for the start, but would run into trouble in the 1st as Catawba would start things off with three runs. After two scoreless innings, the Trailblazers would get on the board in the 4th with an RBI single by Bryce Roddey. Matthew Albritton would get NGU within a run by hitting a solo shot to left field in the 6th. Brett Blomquist would go on to score the tying run in the inning with an RBI single to center field. Pitching would come through for both teams throughout the next four innings as extra innings would be required. In the 11th, a single would get the lead run on base for Catawba. The next at bat would be costly for NGU as an infield single allowed the runner to advance to third because of a throwing error by relief pitcher Thomas Skipper. A line out kept the runners where they were, but an RBI groundout would score the runner at third. North Greenville would go three up, three down to fall in the 11th.

Bryce Roddey posted two hits as well as a run scored and an RBI. Brett Blomquist recorded two hits including a double and an RBI. Matthew Albritton hit a home run and finished with a run scored and an RBI.
