Crusaders tripped by Erskine in league matchup

Due West, S.C. – Three players scored in double-figures including Justin Dotson who had 15 in North Greenville’s 62-56 loss to Erskine College.

Jai Jenks finished the night with 13-points while Daniel Burchette added 12-points to round out NGU’s double-figure scorers. Dotson added 10-rebounds to his line to account for NGU’s only double-double.

North Greenville led by four points at halftime but a 5-0 run in the opening minutes of the second half earned the Fleet a one point lead. The Crusaders were able to even the score a couple times but Erskine kept the visiting NGU team at arms length for the remainder of the game.

The Fleet built their biggest lead of n13-points with 3:26 left in the game, but North Greenville refused to go quietly. A 12-4 run that spanned just over two minutes would trim the Erskine lead to just five. The lead for Erskine would eventually dwindle to four points, but the Crusaders could not capitalize on offense missing their final shot of the game followed by a turnover to end the game.

North Greenville fell to 8-16 overall and 3-14 in league play. The Crusaders will travel to Belmont Abbey on Saturday for a 4pm tipoff.
