Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers finished up the regular season on a high note by defeating the Tornado of King University with a final score of 84-74 at Hayes Gymnasium. NGU pulled away from the Tornado late in the 1st half by scoring the final six points to take a 35-28 lead into halftime. King was able to close the deficit to pull back within three. However, North Greenville would reclaim the momentum from there, opening up the lead to double-digits and ending the night with a ten point victory. NGU had a solid night offensively, finishing with a .518 field goal percentage and shot over .500 for both halves. The win ends NGU's regular season with an 18-11 overall record with a 12-8 record in conference play heading into the Conference Carolinas Tournament.
Savion Brown had yet another memorable performance, finishing with 26 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, and a steal.
Carter Bobbitt posted a double-double with 12 rebounds and 11 points along with 3 assists.
Josh Linder provided 5 blocks as well as 9 rebounds, 7 points, and 6 assists.
North Greenville will face the winner of Belmont Abbey vs. Mount Olive in the second round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament at Hayes Gymnasium on Monday, March 2nd.
