Box Score Tigerville, SC – The Crusaders shot 52.4 percent from long range en route to ending a five-game losing streak with a 102-89 victory on their home floor in Hayes Gymnasium.
The first few minutes of action were highly contested until the Crusaders grew their early lead to 21-11 with 11:40 remaining in the first half. Pfeiffer tied the game at 29-29 just five minutes later, however, a 23-12 run over the final six minutes of the half gave North Greenville a 52-41 edge heading into intermission.
North Greenville picked up right where it left off, stretching its lead to as large as 18 points with 9:54 left to play. The Falcons were unable to get any closer than a nine-point deficit as the Crusaders secured the 13-point victory at home.
As a team, the Crusaders shot 52.2 percent from the floor, while holding Pfeiffer to just 37.7 percent shooting in the game and gaining a 47-36 advantage on the boards.
Freshman Thomas Horn continued his recent hot streak, scoring a career-high 29 points on 10-for-16 shooting from the floor, including a school-record eight three-pointers in 38 minutes of play.
Senior Chris Dean recorded his first double-double of the season with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while fellow senior Keith Johnson finished with 19 points and a career-high 12 assists. Junior forward Phillip Brown rounded out the double-digit scorers for North Greenville as he finished the game with 21 points, eight rebounds and a game-high seven blocks.
North Greenville (13-10, 6-7 Conference Carolinas) will host Lees-McRae College on Monday, Feb. 17 in Tigerville at 7:30 p.m.
