Box Score Tigerville, SC – Fresh off of a double overtime tie with
Pfeiffer University, the North Greenville University women’s soccer team
dropped a home match to Queens University 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The Royals scored first with a goal from junior Sarah Hawley
for a 1-0 lead that lasted into the half time break.
Crusader forward Leah Ward scored her team-leading fourth
goal of the season on an assist from senior Jade Salle in the 47th
to tie the game at 1-1 with 43 minutes remaining in the game.
Queens recorded the game-winning goal in the 86th
minute of play from Macie McGuffin to earn the road win over North Greenville.
Taylor Kelley recorded one save in the first half of action,
while Krista Young took the loss after playing the second half as the Crusaders
outshot Queens 12-7 in the game.
North Greenville (0-11-1) will take to the road for a
contest with Brevard College on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 4 p.m.
