Greenville - North Greenville football has been selected as the favorite to win the Conference Carolinas championship, earning the top spot in the league's 2026 Preseason Coaches Poll.

The recognition comes after a historic 2025 campaign in which the Trailblazers captured the first Conference Carolinas football championship in more than 50 years and advanced to the NCAA Division II Playoffs. The Trailblazers were picked ahead of UNC Pembroke at two and Barton who was voted third. 

North Greenville opens the 2026 season on September 5 at Catawba before hosting Charleston (W.Va.) in its home opener on September 11 at Younts Stadium. The Trailblazers will begin Conference Carolinas play in week four on the road at Ferrum who was picked fourth.
