Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers made history this evening at Hayes Gymnasium, clinching a share of the Conference Carolinas Northwest Division with a 81-74 win over the Belmont Abbey Crusaders. A highly-competitive contest went on to require overtime, where the Trailblazers would take control of the game and end the night with a seven point victory. NGU led by as much as twelve in the 1st half, but a run by the Crusaders cut their deficit to just one going into halftime. North Greenville opened up the lead back up to nine in the second half, but once again Belmont Abbey would close the gap to force overtime. A fast start by NGU in overtime would allow them to manage a small lead. A game-clinching three-pointer by
Savion Brown would end any doubt from the capacity crowd. The Trailblazers shot .431 from the field and more then tripled BAC in second chance points 20-6.
Carter Bobbitt put togehter a solid performance, scoring 22 points as well as 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals.
Savion Brown recorded 21 points, 5 rebounds, and a stela.
Jacob Brown posted a double-double, finishing with 19 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal.
NGU will return to action on Saturday, February 12th against the Bruins of Carolina University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
