The North Greenville Trailblazers began the 2026 year with a 70-56 victory over the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey in Belmont, North Carolina. With the win, NGU improves to 6-5 overall with a 4-2 record in conference play. A competitive opening half concluded with a late NGU run to lead 29-22 going into halftime. The Trailblazers shot 35.3 from the field in the half. Both teams improved from the field in the 2nd half, with the Trailblazers leading with an impressive .556 percentage from the field, allowing them to pull away to ultimately win by double digits. North Greenville led in second chance points 18-8 as well as points in the paint 40-30 as points off turnovers 10-5.
