The North Greenville Trailblazers are heading to the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Tournament as they will face the Young Harris Mountain Lions in bracket #1, hosted by Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina.
NGU enters the regional as the #5 seed with a 43-13 overall record, and will face the Bobcats who enter as the #4 seed with a 40-15 overall record. Catawba, the #1 seed and Lander, the #8 seed make up the remainder of the regional bracket, with Belmont Abbey, Carson-Newman, Lenoir-Rhyne, and North Georgia making up the second bracket of the regional.Â
North Greenville and Young Harris faced each other in a weekend conference series on Friday, March 21st and Saturday, March 22nd with Young Harris taking two out of three to win the series. The Mountain Lions put together a solid showing in the Conference Carolinas Tournament, advancing to the championship series. However, they ultimately lost two games to Belmont Abbey to finish as the runner-up in the tournament.
The two teams will face off on Thursday, May 15th with the winner advancing to the winner's bracket to play the winner of the Catawba-Lander matchup and the loser of both games to face each other in an elimination game.
