Trailblazers Take Series Opener Over Chowan

Tigeville - North Greenville's opened its final home stand of the season with a shutout 8 - 0 win over Chowan at Rae and Bea Dillard field.

The Trailblazers wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning. After a lead off walk, Thomas Powell ripped a ground-rule double to set up the scoring opportunity. Josh Foulks followed with an RBI single, and Lane McGaha added a sacrifice fly to give North Greenville an early 2–0 lead.

North Greenville broke the game open in the second. A two-run single from Mason Swinney highlighted a three-run frame, while C.J. Dean added an RBI double to push the advantage to 5–0.

Meanwhile, starting pitcher Matty Brown  tossed six scoreless innings, allowing just four hits while striking out eight and walking none. Chowan struggled to generate offense all afternoon, finishing with six hits and striking out 12 times without pushing a run across. Chowan's best chances came in the fifth and sixth innings, putting runners in scoring position, but North Greenville's pitching staff—combining for a shutout—shut the door each time.

The Trailblazers continued to add on in the middle innings. An unearned run in the fourth extended the lead, and Foulks delivered the biggest swing of the day in the fifth with a solo home run to center field, making it 7–0. North Greenville tacked on one more in the seventh on a wild pitch to cap the scoring at 8–0.
Foulks led the offense with two hits and three RBIs, while Dean and Swinney also contributed multi-hit or multi-RBI performances. Powell scored twice and added a double as part of the Trailblazers' eight-hit attack.
