Box Score The North Greenville Trailblazers began a weekend conference series with a 12-7 loss to the Mountain Lions of Young Harris College in Young Harris, Georgia. NGU head a two-run lead twice in the game, but a big inning in the 4th inning by Young Harris proved to be too much to bounce back from. North Greenville took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st with an RBI single by
Josh Foulks and an RBI double by
Tristan Salinas. The Mountain Lions took their first lead in the bottom of the 2nd with a run. However, that lead would last just a half inning as North Greenville reclaimed the lead with two additional runs including RBI singles by
Alton Gyselman and
Gideon Antle. The big inning would come in the 4th when Young Harris would take over the lead with a six run inning to take a 9-4 lead. After a scoreless 5th inning, North Greenville pulled back within three with a two-run home run by
Lane McGaha. However, YHC responded with a two-run home run of their own in the bottom of the inning. Young Harris would hit another home run, this time a solo shot in the 8th to increase the lead to six.
Josh Foulks would drive in the final run of the game in the 9th, but North Greenville would strand three base runners to end the game.
Brody Fowler took the loss as the starting pitcher.
Josh Foulks posted two hits and drove in two runs.
Alton Gyselman recorded two hits including a double as well as a run scored and an RBI.
Lane McGaha hit a home run to drive in two runs.
NGU will face the Mountain Lions in a doubleheader tomorrow in Young Harris, Georgia.
