North Greenville Ends Perfect Week with Sweep of Erskine

On a homecoming Saturday at Hayes Gymnasium, the North Greenville Trailblazers came out hot from the beginning to sweep the Erskine Flying Fleet 3-0. The Trailblazers dominated the first set by soaring past the Fleet with a score of 25-8. The second set left the stands on the edge of their seats. The Fleet led early in the beginning, but the Trailblazers came back and took the lead from behind, winning the set 25-19. After some close rallies in the third set, the Trailblazers closed out the Fleet with another dominating score of 25-14. North Greenville finished the game with a .310 hitting percentage, while leading the entire game in aces, kills, blocks, assists, and digs.

Freshman Peyton Taylor led the night in kills and digs, having nine and 13 respectively, while also having two block assists. Linsey Burke had a strong performance, posting five service aces. Anna Fiddelke led the Trailblazers in blocks, putting up three. Allison Ball stole the show, posting 17 total assists to her name.

From head coach Greg Mosely:

"Today I felt very good. We had limited practice because of the hurricane and we're trying to get our momentum back. So, we've had a great week, and a great finish to the week. We've gone 3-0 this week. I'm so proud of the girls and how hard they work. They stay positive through the adversity, so we're looking forward to a good finish to the season. We're going to go attack it."

Next Tuesday, October 22 at 6 pm, the Trailblazers return to Hayes Gymnasium for a non-conference match against Georgia College & State University.
