Box Score The North Greenville Crusaders put together a four-run rally in the eighth inning to defeat the Vikings of Augustana University with a final score of 4-1 in Cary, North Carolina. A base hit by
Pat Monteith in the first inning would be North Greenville's only hit until the eighth inning. After four scoreless innings, Augustana was able to get on the board with a run in the fifth by way of a sacrifice fly. The Crusader lineup finally came to life in the eighth inning with six base hits.
Bryce Roddey and
Cory Bivins got the inning started with base hits.
Bryce Roddey was tagged out at second to potentially stop the momentum, but a single by
Pat Monteith would setup a two-run double by John Michael Faile to give North Greenville the lead. Then,
Marek Chlup doubled NGU's score with a two run home run to left field.
Michael Rodriguez, who took over on the mound with two outs in the eighth, closed out the game with a 1-2-3 inning to seal the win for the Crusaders.
