Box Score NGU faced a tough match this evening in Mount Olive, North Carolina, ultimately falling in four sets to the Trojans of the University of Mount Olive. Set one proved to be a highly competitive one as neither team would lead by more than two until the Trojans closed out the set with the final four points, winning it 25-21. The Crusaders were able to get off to a fast start in set two, but the Trojans would quickly take over the momentum to regain the lead. That lead would switch places several more times as the two teams would require extra points. However, Mount Olive would go on to score the final two points to take set two 26-24. After NGU took an early lead to begin set three, UMO responded to reclaim the lead and pulled away and led by as much as four. However, the Crusaders would fight back to even things up, eventually requiring extra points. North Greenville would face four match points, but would continue to respond with a point and went on to score the final three points of the set to take it 29-27. The two teams would once again remain tight to begin the fourth set, but Mount Olive would control the majority of the set with a manageable lead. The Trojans would go on to take the set and the match with a score of 25-18.
