Eddie Taubensee Signs on as Volunteer Assistant for NGU Baseball

Tigerville - North Greenville University baseball is excited to announce the addition of Eddie Taubensee to its staff as a volunteer assistant coach.

A Major League Baseball veteran at the catcher position, Taubensee, spent 11 seasons across three different professional organizations (Indians, Astros, and Reds).  After his professional baseball career, Eddie has coached at the professional, collegiate and the high school levels.  Eddie and his wife (Rene) have also worked for a ministry (Pro Athletes Outreach) that ministered to the players, coaches, and wives in professional baseball for 15 years.  Eddie is the father of three amazing boys and has been married to his wife for the past 30 years.  His son, Matthew Taubensee, is a left handed pitcher for the Crusaders.

Coach Powell states, "I am thrilled to have Eddie join our staff for this upcoming season.  He has a wealth of knowledge that I believe will be very valuable for our players.  Most importantly, he is a great man of God, who genuinely cares about the people he interacts with on a daily basis. He will be a valuable part of our staff this season."

North Greenville opens the 2023 season on February 3rd at the Winter Invitational in Houston Texas.
