North Greenville men's volleyball standout
Gregory Torres will represent Puerto Rico in the FIVB World Volleyball Championships in Katowice, Poland from August 24 to potentially as late as September 11. Torres, a sophomore sport management major from Puerto Rico, made the Puerto Rican men's national team over the summer and competed in tournaments throughout Mexico and Cuba. Gregory left North Greenville on Saturday, August 20 to return to Puerto Rico for practice and will fly to Poland on Wednesday, August 24. The tournament begins on Saturday, August 27 with Puerto Rico playing Tunisia. Following that, Puerto Rico will play Serbia on Monday, August 29, and then conclude the preliminary pool on Wednesday, August 31 by taking on Ukraine.
