The North Greenville Crusaders will return to action in their second game of the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship tonight in Cary, North Carolina against the Rams of Angelo State University. North Greenville comes off a 3-1 victory over West Chester University on Sunday. ASU leads all of Division II in total runs (672) and are currently ranked 3rd in the NCAA in team batting average (.362).
Angelo State entered the Lone Star Conference Tournament on a thirteen game winning streak and kept the momentum going by sweeping the Tournament, winning all five game by six or more runs with three of the five games by double digits. The Rams hosted the top bracket of the South Central Regional Tournament, starting off with a 26-5 victory over MSU Denver then winning two out of three against Texas A&M - Kingsville. ASU then hosted the South Central Super Regional Tournament and took two out of three against Colorado Mesa University to advance to Cary. Angelo entered the tournament as the #5 seed and defeated the #4 seed Southern New Hampshire University with a score of 7-4. Currently, ASU is ranked #6 in the NCBWA Division II National Poll.
