John Michael Faile garnered First Team All-American honors while
Marek Chlup was a Second Team All-American selection it was announced by the D2 Conference Commissioners Association earlier this week.
Faile is the fifth First Team CCA All-American while Chlup is the first Crusader to earn a second team nod. All together North Greenville has had nine CCA All-Americans including a trio of Third Team selections.
Faile once again led North Greenville's offense and was one of best hitters in Conference Carolinas. He batted .414 this season (.424 in Conference Play) to lead the team and the league. He led the team in OPS and scored 59-runs with 75-hits. For the second consecutive season Faile led the team in home runs with 15 on the season to go along with 12 doubles and 81-RBI.
Marek Chlup continues his career best season with a .402 average on the season, leading the conference with 86-hits on the season including three triples which ranks sixth in all of Division II baseball. Chlup also has 20-doubles and 12 home runs. He also has 29-stolen bases on the season which ranks 14
th overall in Division II.
The Crusaders will continue their season this weekend at the Division II National Championship Tournament in Cary, North Carolina.
