North Greenville's Reece Fields was named the 2021-22 Herff Jones Conference Carolinas Male Athlete of the Year, the Conference Carolinas announced earlier today. Fields proved to be an integral part of North Greenville's national championship season. 

Fields wrapped up the season with an 11-2 record with a 3.79 ERA. He also nearly averaged a strikeout per inning pitched, finishing with 102.0 innings pitched and 101 strikeouts. Reece also led the team with twenty starts and two complete games. The redshirt sophomore from West Columbia, South Carolina tied for 5th in the country in wins with eleven.

Reece Fields is North Greenville's second consecutive student-athlete to earn a Male Athlete of the Year Award as John Michael Faile was named Player of the Year for the 2020-21 season. Utah Jones also earned Player of the Year honors during the 2018-19 season, which earns NGU baseball three Male Athlete of the Year awards in three of the past four years.
