Box Score 2 Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville 2022 softball season began with 5-2 and 5-0 losses to the Trojans of Anderson University this afternoon at
Jan McDonald Field. North Greenville put up a total of eight hits throughout the day, but two runs in the first game would be the only scoring for the Crusaders. Game one saw both teams get on the board in the second inning with the Trojans leading 2-1 going into the third. The two teams put in a repeat performance in the 6th to put Anderson up 4-2. AND scored one more insurance run in the 7th to lead 5-2.
Claire Gilmore hit a single in the bottom of the 7th, but otherwise NGU would go quietly to end game one. Pitching was strong in game two with neither team scoring a run in the first four innings. However, Anderson eventually broke through in the 5th with two home runs to go up 3-0 and a dropped fly ball would allow two more runs to score in the inning.
