Sydney Taylor's first win as a head coach was also the first win of the season for NGU Women's Lacrosse as they ease past Tusculum 13-7 in non-conference action.
The Crusaders scored the first three goals of the game. Dani O'meara broke the scoreless tie at the 12:50 mark while
Emma Mayew and
Kylie Keen added a goal each as NGU led 3-0 in the first quarter.
Mayew and O'mera would add a second goal each in the first quarter to pad NGU's lead. The Pioneers netted their first score of the game in the first to make it 3-1. The Crusaders answered with three unanswered scores including their only goal of the second quarter from
McCayla Richard which made it 6-1
Tusculum cut the NGU lead to just three goals twice in the final two quarters, but NGU had an answer each time. The Crusaders bounced back with a pair of goals to make it 8-3 with 13:14 and once again later in the third, scoring three straight goals to extend the lead to 11-5.
Emma Mayew led North Greenville with four goals on the night while O'mera finished the night with three scores.
Tori Smith earned her first career win in the net, collecting 12-saves.
