Box Score NGU baseball finished its regular season with a 20-7 win over the Bulldogs of Barton College to finish with an overall record of 29-10 and a conference record of 23-9. The Crusaders will head into the Conference Carolinas Tournament as the #2 seed behind only Mount Olive.

Recap

• The Crusaders would get off to a strong start, scoring six runs in the first three innings including a two-run home run by Douglas Angeli. Barton would get back into the game with two runs in the 3rd and four runs in the 4th, but NGU would take over from there. A five run 5th inning was capped off by a two-run home run by John Michael Faile. In the 6th, the Crusaders were able to put the game out of reach for good with a seven-run inning that included a three-run homer by Faile. Brady West would add two more runs in the 7th by hitting a two-RBI double. The Bulldogs were able to score one last run in the bottom of the 9th, but the Crusaders would take the win by a comfortable margin. Ethan Garner was the winning pitcher.

Individual

• John Michael Faile hit two home runs while recording 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
• Gehrig Octavio recorded 3 hits including a triple.
• Josh Senter went 3 for 5 with an RBI and 3 runs scored.
