Box Score 2 NGU began this weekend's four-game conference series against the Mount Olive Trojans with 4-2 and 10-3 losses in Mount Olive, North Carolina. With two game of the series in the books, the Trojans and Crusaders top the Conference Carolinas standings, with the Trojans now holding a slight edge over NGU.
Gehrig Octavio was the lone Crusader with more than one hit for the day, recording a total of three.

Recap
- Logan Chapman took the mount for the start in game one. The Crusaders would get off to a solid start in the top of the 2nd when Doug Angeli hit an RBI single and Pat Monteith brought in a run on a bunt. Mount Olive would respond with a run in the bottom of the inning and would tie the game in the bottom of the 3rd. The bats would fall silent for the Crusaders as a runner would not get on base after the top of the 2nd. NGU would hang on until the bottom of the 5th when the Trojans took the lead with a two-run double. Chapman would pitch a solid game, but would receive the loss.
- Ethan Garner took the mound for the Crusaders in game two, but would last just one inning as UMO would score four runs in the 1st including three RBI doubles. Mount Olive would follow that up with two additional runs in the 2nd. Pitching would take over for both teams until NGU would get on the board in the top of the 6th with an RBI double down the left field line by Josh Senter as well as a sacrifice fly by Ethan Stringer. Mount Olive would then officially put the game out of reach in the bottom of the inning by way of a three-run home run. Both teams would drive in a run in the 7th before going scoreless in the final two innings. Ethan Garner was charged with the loss.
Individual
- Gehrig Octavio was the only multi-hit Crusader of the day, posting 3 hits including a double.
- Josh Senter knocked in a run with a double and drew a walk.
- Logan Chapman pitched a complete game allowing just 4 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks. He struck out 4.
