Crusades make quick work of Erskine on senior night

Box Score Tigerville – North Greenville tallied its fith win of the season on Thursday night, sweeping Erskine College (25 – 10 | 25 – 14 | 25 – 15) to celebrate senior night.

Recap
  • A close first quickly got out of hand when North Greenville scored eight unanswered points to take an 11 – 3 lead. A pair of service aces and two kills from Abigail Durham helped NGU pull ahead of the visiting fleet. The two offenses would trade points, making it 15 – 7 in favor of the Crusaders before NGU rallied late, scoring five straight and six of the last eight to earn the set one win. 
  • The fleet took early control of set one, using three kills and NGU attack error to take a 4 – 1 lead. Erskine maintained the slight edge before Erin Allen fueled a quick comeback, knocking down three kills. An Erskine error would help the cause, making it 15-11. NGU's defense limited the Fleet to just three more points en route to the 2 – 0 lead. 
  • North Greenville looked to make quick work of the Fleet in the third set, rushing out to a 13 – 8 advantage. The Crusaders again rallied for four unanswered scores to extend the lead. Madelyn Harris set North Greenville up with set point later in the frame before the 21st error of the game for Erskine helped put the game away.
