MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – North Greenville volleyball earned a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Mount Olive on Friday night, improving to 12-8 overall and 8-4 in Conference Carolinas play.
The Trailblazers dropped the opening set 25-19 before responding with consecutive wins of 25-22 and 25-20. Mount Olive forced a deciding fifth set with a 25-19 victory in the fourth, but North Greenville held on to claim the match with a 15-12 win in the final set.
Anna Fiddelke and Samantha Ball led the Trailblazers with 15 kills apiece. Peyton Taylor added 11 kills, while Elise Smith contributed eight. Lydia Northam recorded an efficient performance with five kills on 12 attempts, hitting .417.
Ally Ball finished with 27 assists and 10 digs, reaching a major career milestone by recording her 1,500th career assists during the match. Madison Sherman added 23 assists, while Samantha Ball led the defensive effort with 19 digs. Macie Gentry contributed 17 digs, and Peyton Taylor finished with 11.
North Greenville totaled 56 kills, 52 assists and 82 digs in the five-set battle. North Greenville will take on Chowan tomorrow afternoon.
