Box Score Tigerville, SC - North Greenville baseball got going with a 9-2 victory over the Wolves of Newberry College this afternoon at Ray & Bea Dillard Field. The Crusaders registered 9 runs and 11 hits. Although NGU did commit 2 errors, 11 hits as well as dominant pitching would keep the Wolves in check.
Logan Chapman put together a strong start and earned the win.
John Michael Faile picked up right where he left off last season, posting 3 hits and 3 RBIs.

Recap
- Pitching would start off strong for both teams as the two starters would allow just four hits between the two. NGU was able to get on the board first in the bottom of the 3rd when Ethan Stringer singled up the middle to score Cory Bivins. Newberry instantly responded with an RBI groundout to tie the game in the top of the 4th.
- The big inning came in the bottom of the 6th when the Crusaders added 6 runs to the board by way of a solo shot to left field by Marek Chlup, a 2 RBI single to left field by John Michael Faile, and a 3-run homer by Brady West.
- NBY would score their second run of the game in the top of the 7th when a stolen base resulted in a throwing error that allowed the runner to score. North Greenville would add an insurance run in the bottom of the 7th with an RBI double down the right field line by John Michael Faile.
- Gehrig Octavio would drive NGU's final run in by way of a double up the middle.
Individual
- John Michael Faile put together a solid performance, going 3 for 5 with 3 RBIs and a double.
- Logan Chapman pitched a strong 5.0 innings and earned the win.
- Brady West capped off the big inning with a 3-run home run.
