Recap
  • The Flying Fleet would control the opening set early on, jumping out to a 4-7 lead. However, the Crusaders would fight back to even things out and would dominate the set later on, ending it with a 9-1 run to win it 25-20. NGU posted an impressive .345 attack percentage in the set with fourteen kills and just four attack errors.
  • Set two proved to be the exact opposite of set one, with North Greenville taking an early lead and Erskine taking over from there. The set was much more of a struggle for NGU with a .040 attack percentage that included ten attack errors.
  • The third set went on to be the most competitive of the match with the Fleet ultimately narrowly winning it 25-23. North Greenville improved from set two with a .156 attack percentage, but Erskine proved to be better with a .290 percentage with just four errors committed.
  • Facing defeat, the Crusaders fought to have a strong set four, posting a .242 attack percentage as EC struggled with six errors and a .032 percentage. NGU had the momentum early on. Although Erskine put up a fight late in the set, their deficit proved to be too much to recover from as North Greenville would hang on to take the set 25-18.
  • In non-dramatic fashion, the Crusaders would control set five with relative ease, leading from the beginning and refusing to slow down. Erskine would put together one last fight facing match point with four straight points, but after a timeout Paige Beisecker posted the final kill to end the match with a win.
