Box Score After falling to the Trojans earier in the season, North Greenville was able to get redemption with a 10-4 win over Anderson University in Anderson, South Carolina. The Crusaders had a big day on offense, posting 10 runs on 15 hits while also having some help from the Trojans as four errors were charged to AU. Brady West had a big day, going 3 for 4 with a home run and 4 RBIs. Ethan Garner was the winning pitcher.
Ethan Garner made a rare midweek start, pitching 2.0 perfect innings. North Greenville entered the run column first when Cory Bivins hit an RBI single in the top of the 2nd. NGU would put two more runs on the board in the top of the 3rd with an RBI single by John Michael Faile and a sacrifice fly by Doug Angeli. The top of the 5th would be a success for North Greenville as well with a two run home run by Brady West and an RBI single by Gehrig Octavio. Anderson would score its first run of the game in the bottom of the 5th by way of an RBI groundout. Reece Fields gave up the run, but would not give up a hit in the 6th and 7th innings. The top of the 7th resulted in two additional runs for the Crusaders with an RBI double by Josh Senter and a sacrifice fly by Octavio. NGU would add one more insurance run in the 8th when West came through with a two-RBI double to put the Crusaders up 10-1. Anderson wouldn't go down without a fight, scoring three runs in the 8th due to a bases-clearing double. Brady Smith took the mount to close things out, pitching a scoreless 9th inning to seal the win.
NGU will return to action tomorrow in Newberry, South Carolina against the Wolves of Newberry College.
