2nd half surge lifts Wise over Crusaders

Wise, VA – North Greenville was left searching for its first win on Friday night after a 16-11 loss to UVA-Wise.

UVA-Wise opened the game with four unanswered goals but North Greenville broke through at the 15-minute mark with Rachel Kellogg’s first score of the game. Ashley Tatcher’s first career score made it 4-2 with 14:13 left in the half and Kellogg added another but North Greenville trailed 8-6 at intermission.

North Greenville made it 8-7 early on in the second on Olivia Foltz’s first score but seven straight goals by UVAW put North Greenville in a 15-7 hole with 19:28 left in the game. Back-to-back scores by Kellogg made it 15-9 with 14-minutes left.

Wise tacked on a final goal while Kellogg and Foltz found the back of the net once more in the final minutes to round out the scoring. Kellogg finished the night with a game-high six goals in the effort while Foltz had a pair of scores.

North Greenville’s next game will be the team’s home opener February 19th against Lander at 5 PM.
