North Greenville Falls Short in Battle of the Crusaders

Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders took a 15-4 loss against the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey this evening at Pepsi Stadium. NGU led 2-0 to begin the game, but BAC would take over from there by score 14 unanswered goals to put the game out of reach. Rachel Kellogg led North Greenville with two goals and eight total shots.

1st Half (12-2 BAC)

Rachel Kellogg put NGU on the board early on with a goal in the first minute of the game. Around two minutes later, Brenis Napoli scored an unanswered goal of her own to give North Greenville a 2-0 lead. However, from there Belmont Abbey would wake up and completely take over the game, scoring twelve unanswered goals throughout the remainder of the half.

2nd Half (15-4 BAC)

After Belmont Abbey score the first two goals of the half, NGU was able to put an end to the drought with a goal by Jillian Chiesa and an assist by Napoli with just over twelve minutes remaining. BAC would respond with another goal before the scoring was capped by NGU when Kellogg recorded her second goal of the game.

Individual

Rachel Kellogg led NGU with 2 goals and eight shots with six of those on goal. She also contributed with 2 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers.

Brenis Napoli scored a goal and provided an assist. She also posted 2 ground balls.

Jillian Chiesa put up a goal and a ground ball.

North Greenville will have a quick turnaround as they will face the Mount Olive Trojans on Friday, April 12th in Tigerville.
