Box Score NGU Men's Volleyball picked up its first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over the Queens University Royals. The Crusaders won sets one, two, and four. Jackson Gilbert led in kills with 18.
Set 1
North Greenville fell behind early with a score of 7-4. From there, the Crusaders would go on a 13-3 run to lead 17-10. After Queens closed the gap to trail 20-16, NGU closed out the set scoring five of the final six points to take it 25-17.
Set 2
The two teams went back and forth throughout the entire set, with neither team leading by more than two points. With the set tied 19 different times, the Crusaders took the final three points to win 25-23.
Set 3
NGU began the third set strong with the first five points. With North Greenville leading for the first half of the set, the Royals would come back to tie the set 13-13. The Crusaders were one point away from taking the set and the match, but Queens ended the set with three straight points to take it 26-24.
Set 4
Queens jumped out to an early 6-4 lead, but North Greenville responded with a 7-0 run to lead 11-6. The remainder of the set went back and forth, with NGU able to hold a lead of at least three points for the remainder of the set. With the score 20-16, the Crusaders went on to score the final five points of the set to win it 25-16 as well as the match.
Individual
Jackson Gilbert led the way with 18 kills and 42 total attacks. He also led in digs with 14.
Brandon Baker had a solid night with 13 kills, 35 total attacks, and 6 digs.
Jake Boldog put up 45 assists, 13 digs, and 4 block assists.

North Greenville will head to State College, Pennsylvania to face the Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday, January 12th.
