Box Score The North Greenville Crusaders wrapped up their road trip to Illinois with a 3-0 loss to the #9 Loyola Chicago Ramblers in Chicago, Illinois. For the second straight match, NGU kept things close in the third set, falling short by just two points. Jackson Gilbert led in kills with seven.
Set 1
The Crusaders put up quite a challenge in the first half of the opening set, leading five different times. Loyola was able to pull away late in the set, ending it with a 7-1 run and a score of 25-18.
Set 2
A rocky start by North Greenville allowed Loyola to take the first nine points of the set. NGU would finally get on the board, but would not be able to close the gap. The Ramblers took the set 25-12.
Set 3
North Greenville came to life early on, leading throughout most of the first half of the set. Loyola would eventually take its first lead of the set with a score of 14-13, but NGU refused to go away, staying within three points of the Ramblers for the rest of the set. With Loyola on match point, the Crusaders scored two in a row to force a timeout. The Ramblers were able to put up the final kill to end the match with a set score of 25-23.
Individual
Jackson Gilbert led in kills for the second straight match with 7. He also recorded 14 total attacks and 4 digs.
Aaron Campbell put up 5 kills, 22 total attacks, 7 digs, and a block assist.
Brandon Baker contributed with 5 kills, 17 total attacks, 2 digs, and a block assist.
