Box Score Tigerville, S.C. – North Greenville men’s volleyball went up two sets to one on Monday night but couldn’t close out the Golden Eagles of Charleston who escaped Tigerville with a 3 – 2 (21 – 25 / 25 – 21 / 25 – 18 / 15 – 25 / 16 – 18) win over the Crusaders.

How it Happened
- North Greenville had just six kills in each of its two-set losses in regulation. The Crusaders hit in the negatives in the first set (a 21 – 25 loss) with seven errors and hit just .077 in the set four loss.
- The Crusaders were slightly better on offense in the second set but were also benefitted by nine attack errors by the Eagles.
- Matthew McManaway gave the Crusaders a 22 – 17 lead with a kill late in the set. The Crusaders then got the help of three service errors by the Eagles to finish off the win.
- The Crusaders once again got out to a big lead when Jackson Gilbert made it 17 – 12 with a kill. The lead was later extended to seven when Ben Hamsho knocked down a kill paired with a Charleston Attack error which made it 21 – 14.
- NGU once again led by seven when it was 23 – 16. McManaway later moved the game to set-point with a spike while another service error from Charleston helped earn the Crusaders a 2 – 1 set lead.
- Charleston quickly rebounded in the fourth set to even the score at 2 – 2. The Golden Eagles led by as many as 10-points when they took a 10 – 7 advantage.
- North Greenville chipped away at the Charleston lead, eventually cutting it to just four but the Eagles were able to pull away late to send it to a fifth set.
- Charleston jumped ahead in the deciding set and led until North Greenville took a 10 – 9 lead on an Aaron Campbell kill.
- Charleston took a 14 – 13 lead later on in the set but once again helped out North Greenville with a pair of errors to earn the Crusaders a chance to win it. The Eagles would bounce back to take a 17 – 16 advantage, later using an NGU attack error to take the win.

- Matthew McManaway had his best night of the season, pounding out 17 – kills to lead all players.
- Dustin King had a game-high 11 – digs on defense while Jake Boldog had 37 – assists.
