Box Score Tigerville, S.C. – Ethan Landrith scored three goals while Austin Dixon added two, powering North Greenville to an 8-5 win over Walsh University, Saturday afternoon in Tigerville.
North Greenville trailed 3-2 at the half as the Cavs scored twice in the final 10-minutes. North Greenville took a 2-1 lead with goals from Blake Thompson and Austin Dixon at the 12:08 and 8:28 of the second quarter but Ryan Martin capped the half with back-to-back goals to earn Walsh the one goal halftime edge.
The Crusaders came out firing in the third quarter with three, unanswered scores. Alex Proly got the rally started while Ethan Landrith put in consecutive goals with assists from Dixon and Jake Foster to earn NGU a 5-3 advantage.
Walsh tacked on a pair of goals in the second half, but Landrith’s third goal of the day and another from Austin Dixon would put the game away for NGU. Jake Foster also scored for the Crusaders, a goal which extended NGU’s advantage to 6-4 after a Cavs score a few minutes earlier.
North Greenville improved to 5-1 on the season, the best start so far for the three-year program. The Crusaders will travel to Saint Leo, Florida on March 16th to take on 17th ranked Saint Leo University at 1pm.
