Box Score Wilson, N.C. - North Greenville suffered its sixth loss in as many games on Saturday afternoon after coming out on the short end of a 3-0 decision against Barton College.
The Bulldogs downed NGU by scores of 25-19, 25-18, and 25-17 on Saturday afternoon as North Greenville fell to 10-12 overall and 6-9 in Conference Carolinas play.
The Crusaders hit just .104 during the match while the Bulldogs finished with a .250 hitting percentage. Jon Childes led NGU with eight kills while Luuga Vailu'u had seven. Caleb Arelus finished with eight. Alexander Schinzing had 22-assists while Dustin King and Childes led NGU with seven digs. Arelus and Matthew McManaway had three solo blocks.
North Greenville battled and led early in each of the first two sets but the league leading Bulldogs pulled ahead midway through each frame, their largest lead coming at 17-10 in the first.
The Bulldogs would lead by as many as six in the third frame but NGU would chop down the lead to five, using a Barton attack error. The Crusaders would tack on one more point as Childes knocked down his eighth of the game but the Bulldogs would score on consecutive possessions to send North Greenville home winless.
The Crusaders will travel to Banner Elk, North Carolina on April 6th to take on Lees-McRae College at 7pm.
