Central, S.C.—The North Greenville Baseball team picked up its third win in a row on Wednesday evening after defeating Southern Wesleyan University 8-5 in the championship game of the NCCAA Invitational.

NGU picked up a one run lead in the top of the first but SWU answered with a four run bottom half to take a three run lead. The Crusaders never waivered however scoring two runs in the second, one run in the third and fourth, and three runs in the sixth.

The win over SWU improves NGU’s record to 7-6 on the season. The Crusaders will take Thursday off before returning home for a three game series with Bluefield College, a rematch of the 2010 NCCAA National Championship. The First game of the series with Blue Field will be Friday at 2pm.
