Coach Heather Foster enters her second season as the Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach at North Greenville University, bringing more than 32 years of coaching experience and a distinguished background as both a player and coach.
A native of Miami, Florida, Foster relocated to Travelers Rest, South Carolina, in 2006. She and her husband, Joseph, are the proud parents of two children, Toby and Teigen.
Foster's passion for volleyball began in the fourth grade and continued throughout a standout collegiate playing career. As a setter at Miami Dade Community College, one of the NJCAA's premier volleyball programs, she served as team captain while earning All-Region, All-Conference, and All-State honors. She ranked among the nation's Top 10 in setting assists, was named the school's Female Athlete of the Year, and earned recognition as a member of the NJCAA All-American Academic Team.
Following her successful career at Miami Dade, Foster transferred to Nova Southeastern University, where she continued to excel as one of the program's top setters. She was named the team's Most Valuable Player and helped lead the Sharks to the conference championship finals.
Throughout her coaching career, Foster has worked with athletes at the high school, club, and collegiate levels, coaching both boys' and girls' volleyball. During her five-year tenure as head coach at Travelers Rest High School, she guided the program to its most successful stretch since 1986, capturing multiple region championships and leading the team on a deep run toward a South Carolina state title.
In the club volleyball ranks, Foster has enjoyed tremendous success with Carolina One Volleyball, highlighted by winning the 2024 Girls 18U National Championship.
Foster also spent more than five years as the Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach at Florida International University, where she helped lead the Panthers to one of the most successful seasons in program history. FIU captured the Sun Belt Conference Championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Academically, Foster earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in 1998 and a Master of Education in School Counseling at Clemson University in 2008.
With decades of coaching experience, a championship pedigree, and a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the court, Coach Foster continues to play an integral role in the growth and success of North Greenville University Women's Volleyball.
