St. Petersburg, FL — North Greenville wrapped up its first day in St. Petersburg with a 3 - 1 loss to Pittsburg State in the first ever meeting between the twho programs.
The Trailblazers battled throughout the four-set match, taking the opening set before Pittsburg State responded with three straight set victories. NGU claimed the first set, 25-15, before the Gorillas answered with 25-21, 25-12 and 25-22 victories.
Anna Fiddelke led the Trailblazers offensively with 11 kills while hitting .423 for the match. Peyton Taylor added eight kills, while Larkin Pham finished with six kills and six digs. Macie Gentry anchored the defensive effort with 18 digs, while Allison Ball recorded 20 assists.
NGU showed strong offensive efficiency in the opening set, hitting .419 while building an early advantage. The Trailblazers also finished the match with five total team blocks and six service aces.
North Greenville is back to work tomorrow morning at 9:30 against University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez.
