The North Greenville Trailblazers fell to the Catawba College Indians with a final score of 3-1 in Salisbury, North Carolina. NGU took the opening set with a score of 25-19, but Catawba would come to life in the second set, bouncing back to win 25-18 with just three attack errors for the set. After a strong start by Catawba in set three, NGU responded to cut into the deficit. However, it wouldn't be enough as CAT was able to hang on for a 25-22 set win. Set four told a similar story as Catawba started off strong. The Trailblazers once again cut into the deficit, would Catawba would once again score late to hang on and win set four 25-23. NGU finished the match with a .185 attack percentage and led in service aces and blocks but trailed in kills, assists, and digs.
Yoriano Velez Vega put together an impressive night with 23 kills, 9 digs, 2 block assists, a service ace, a solo block, and an assist.
Landon Richter posted 8 kills, 5 block assists, and 2 solo blocks.
Logan Keothavy recorded 7 kills, 6 digs, and 2 service aces.
NGU will take on the Bruins of Carolina University on Tuesday, March 10th at Hayes Gymnasium.
