Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers led early on, but ultimately fell to the Flying Fleet of Erskine College with a final score of 3-1 this evening at Hayes Gymnasium. NGU managed a comfortable lead throughout set one, going on to win it 25-19. However, things would take a turn from there as Erskine handled NGU in set two, winning it 25-16. A competitive set three also ended with a Flying Fleet set win with a score of 25-21. Set four was the most competitive of the match as extra points were required. However, once again Erskine would come out on top, winning it 27-25. NGU started off strong but finished with a .177 hit percentage and narrowly led in kills, assists, and digs.
Yoriano Velez Vega finished with a double-double, posting 11 kills and 10 digs in addition to 2 block assists, a solo block, and an assist.
Thomas Roper was solid with 17 kills and 3 digs.
Landon Richter recorded 9 kills, a dig, a solo block, and a block assist.
NGU will face the Lions of Emmanuel University on Saturday, March 28th in Franklin Springs, Georgia.
