The North Greenville Trailblazers put together a strong performance on the road, defeating Emmanuel (GA) 3-1 this afternoon at the Shaw Athletic Center in Franklin Springs, Georgia. NGU took control early by winning set one 25-23 before Emmanuel responded with a 25-20 win in set two. The Trailblazers regained momentum in set three with a 25-19 victory and sealed the match in a tightly contested fourth set, coming out on top 26-24. North Greenville hit an efficient .246 as a team while totaling 54 kills and 53 assists in the match. The Trailblazers also held an advantage at the net, finishing with 17 block assists and limiting Emmanuel to a .182 hitting percentage.
Yoriano Velez Vega led the way with 13 kills and 8 digs while adding a solo block and two block assists. Logan Keothavy delivered an efficient performance with 12 kills on a .367 hitting percentage along with 8 digs and 2 service aces. Thomas Roper matched the team-high with 13 kills and contributed 8 digs and 2 block assists.Â
North Greenville will take on the Lees-McRae Bobcats on Tuesday, March 31st in Banner Elk, North Carolina.
