Tigerville – North Greenville was handed a heart breaking conference loss on Wednesday as Lees-McRae escaped with a 10 – 9 win in overtime.
The Trailblazers trailed by three goals early in the fourth quarter as the Bobcats led 8 – 5. North Greenville rallied however, scoring three unanswered goals to even the tally at 8. Steven Hulls Jr. got the ball rolling with his goal at the 11:39 mark while Caydan Castle scored less than a minute later. The Score equaling goal came from
Aydan Sizemore who pulled NGU even with a goal at the 7:51 mark.
Whitt Bebe delivered the first go ahead goal of the game for NGU since the Trailblazers led by one goal early in the game. His one timer with 5:29 left in the game made it 9 – 8 in favor of the home team. Wednesday would fall in favor of the visitors, however. The Bobcats evened the score at 4:57, eventually sending the game to overtime. It wouldn't take long for Lees-McRae to score the golden goal in overtime, ending the game with 3:18 on the clock.
Yates Miller and
Connor Castle led NGU with two goals each.
Tyler Slais and
Aydan Sizemore had a goal and an assist.
Dalton Wilkins led the Trailblazers with three caused turnovers.
Matthew Desmond kept NGU in the game saving 15 – shots after facing 25 – shots on goal.
