Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers fell in tough fashion this afternoon at Hayes Gymnasium, dropping a conference match to the Lees-McRae Bobcats with a final score of 3-2. A thrilling match required extra points for four of the five sets. NGU controlled the opening set early on and went on to win it 25-19 before LMC responded by winning sets two and three, both with a score of 28-26. North Greenville turned the tide by winning set four with a score of 26-24 to force a set five. The final set featured several momentum swings, but the Bobcats ultimately came out on top with a score of 18-16 to escape Tigerville with a victory. For the match, NGU finished with a .319 hit percentage and led in blocks while tying LMC in service aces and digs.
Yoriano Velez Vegas finished with a team-leading 19 kills, 11 digs, 3 service aces, and 2 block assists.
Logan Keothavy was impressive with 14 kills, 8 digs, 2 block assists, and an assist.
Landon Richter recorded 13 kills, 2 block assists, and an assist.
NGU will return to action on Saturday, March 14th against the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina.
