Tigerville – North Greenville dropped its season opener to Tusculum University on Saturday, falling to the Pioneers 18 – 8 in non-conference play.
Tusculum put NGU in an early deficit scoring eight goals in the first quarter. North Greenville answered with a score by
Aubree Mayse.
Josie Rose scored once in the first half with another by Mayse but the Trailblazers still trailed 11 – 3 at halftime. NGU held the Pioneers scoreless in the fourth quarter but the visitors stacked on seven more goals in the third period to make it 18 – 5.
Josie Rose scored her second of the game in the final stretch while
Mary Regan scored her first career goal. Mayse tacked on her third of the game.

North Greenville will travel to Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday evening to take on the Railsplitters.
