Daytona Beach, FL – North Greenville struggled in the first and fourth quarters on Saturday resulting in a 17 – 12 loss to #18 Embry Riddle.
The Trailblazers fell behind 6 – 1 in the first quarter with the lone goal coming from
Aydan Sizemore which made it 1 – 0 early on. The Eagles score six unanswered before NGU's next score which came less than a minute in to the second quarter when
Jared Norris' one timer made it 6 – 2. The Trailblazers looked to make a run but the Eagles had an answer each time. NGU scored back – to – back goals when Sizemore and
Ryder Hamilton pocked a pair of goals but Embry Riddle answered with three straight to keep NGU at bay.
NGU was finally able to put something together at the end of the second and in to the third period.
Caden Castle scored a pair of goals to end the second which sparked a rally in which NGU put together six unanswered scores to cut ERU's lead down to one goal. The Eagles once again bounced back to outscore NGU 6 – 2 in the final 15 – minutes and change. The Trailblazers final two scores came with 8:54 and 8:25 in the fourth, both scored by
Nick Meier.
Nick Meier and
Caden Castle both had three goals to lead the Trailblazers. Sizemore had two goals. He led NGU with three assists.
